Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Ecstasy Untamed
Series: Feral Warriors #6
Author: Pamela Palmer
Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance
Publisher: AVON
Source: Publisher
ISBN: 9780061794735

SUMMARY
(From Amazon)

Shattered by recent nightmarish events, Hawke feels his bond with his animal spirit weakening—and once it breaks, he’s finished. The arrival of Faith sends his life spinning even further out of control, for although she delights him and enflames his deepest primal passions, she’s promised to Maxim, the newest Feral Warrior.

Faith is drawn to Hawke from the start, but Maxim holds her in his thrall and has secretly bent her to his malevolent will. Though gravely damaged, Hawke is the only one who can end Faith’s slavery and protect the Feral Warriors from Maxim’s evil designs. But first they both must embrace the wild . . . and surrender body and soul to a forbidden, all-consuming ecstasy.

MY THOUGHTS

Hawke is back and be still my heart! I finally made it to my favorite Feral Warrior and his tortured story.  I think I didn't eat, sleep or do much of anything while reading this book.  Even my kids steered clear of me.

Hawke has been rescued from the spirit trap and he is not the same as when he went in.  His animal is fighting with him and causing him to shift.  Even though he is trying to fight the rage and the unwanted shifting, when the animal does take over it takes him to the sky for hours.  When he is in his hawk form, he isn't even remembering it.  If he doesn't get his animal under control soon,  he will eventually die.

Faith is a Therian living in Poland.  When out one night she is attacked by Daemons.  A handsome stranger comes to her rescue and convinces her that they are mates.  He sweeps her away to the Feral House to claim his animal that he is marked with.  Maxim is not what he seems though.  He is cold, cruel, and definitely not the next Foxx.  Some animals were never reborn into the next Feral intended until the spirit trap was breached.  Now they are finding themselves being introduced to them rather quickly.  In this we see the true nature of Maxim and the true evil he is capable of.  Seriously, by the end of Chapter 6, this book becomes dark, dirty and flat out suspenseful.  Be warned and be ready to have your heart flutter in fear.

As if the author couldn't torture us enough after that, the readers learn a secret about Faith that could change everything.  Will she reveal it to Hawke and the other Warriors? If she does, will she do it in time? Can she save Hawke and make him realize what is truly wrong with his animal spirit? Well, my lovely readers -- you will have to read the book.

The ending was bittersweet for me.  It is left with a climatic ending that makes me scream in frustration because we have to wait for the next book!  Release day will not arrive soon enough for this fan. I wonder if I could bribe author Pamela Palmer for some hints and secrets?

MY FAVORITE QUOTES

"His legs are regrowing.  Along with everything in between."
Several of the Ferals blanched.
"There's nothing in this world more painful than regrowing a penis." Kougar said quietly.
"It's taking longer than the legs." Olivia crossed her arms tight as if shielding herself as another of Jag's yells echoed through the house.
"That's part of the reason it's so painful.  It takes forever."
"How much longer?" Olivia asked.
"Another hour, maybe."
Every man shuddered this time.  Olivia squeezed her eyes closed. "It better come back as good as new, that's all I'm saying."
--page 195

Vhyper shook his head.  "You couldn't be the Wicked Witch of the West.  You have to be all Tinker Bell cute and sunny."
--page 236 / Vhyper talking to Faith

MY RATING

Outstanding book that will stay on my bookshelf for rereading!

Hunger Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Hunger Untamed
Series: Feral Warriors #5
Author: Pamela Palmer
Source: Personal Purchase
Publisher: AVON
Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance
ISBN: 9780061794711

SUMMARY
(From Amazon)

They are called Feral Warriors—an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

For a thousand years she has haunted him—Ariana, Queen of the linas, a beauty of mist and light. His love, his life mate . . . Kougar believed her lost to him forever, until the truth of her stunning betrayal left him bitter and hungry for revenge. Now she alone holds the power to save two trapped and desperate Feral Warriors.

Ariana, caught in a deadly battle of her own, is neither the soulless creature Kougar believes her to be nor the savior he seeks.

And when darkness threatens to annihilate both races, the greatest danger of all becomes the glorious love Kougar and Ariana once shared. A love that must never rise again. A love that has never died.

MY THOUGHTS

The first four books in this series blew me away! This one -- not so much.  While I still enjoyed the wild ride the author took me on,  I think I just had a hard time because of the main characters.

Kougar and Ariana were mated in the past.  They thought being from different races wouldn't hurt their love for each other, but fate had other ideas.  After an attack on the Iliana race that Ariana is the Queen for, they are forced to go into hiding and break communication with Kougar.

Kougar thinks that his mate died long ago, but she didn't.  Years later when he discovers the truth, he promises to keep their secret and walks away from Ariana.  In the years that followed, hate and contempt has formed in Kougars cold heart and Ariana has tried to control the secrets and pain while protecting her race.  When other warriors are trapped in the spirit trap, Kougar goes on the hunt for Ariana since she is the only one who has access to it.  He has eleven days to convince her to help.  Unfortunately, if Ariana does as he asks, she risks the extinction of herself and her entire race for real this time.

Ariana was not a great character for me.  I just couldn't connect with her as I did the previous heroines in the other books.  I am not sure what made her unlikable to me but I know she wasn't up to par as the previous ones.  Kougar had his good moments and you can't mistake his dedication and loyalty to his race, but he wasn't as strong as I thought he would be.  He is powerful and sexy, but he is lacking a certain punch for me to believable.  I think it is because I felt the relationship was being forced for me.  I just couldn't get the two to connect in my mind.  There wasn't much chemistry in my minds eye, but there was much begging and pleading from Kougar and many no's from Ariana.

I still enjoyed the book and I am glad to have read it for the simple fact that previous plot lines played out.  What I love the most is how the author makes sure we don't forget the previous characters because they are essential to each story for progression.  The next book features Hawke who happens to be my favorite Warrior so far.  I have been waiting patiently -- okay not so patiently -- for his book and I am glad to be starting it next!

MY RATING

Okay book, but it left me wanting more!

Rapture Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Rapture Untamed
Series: Feral Warriors #4
Author: Pamela Palmer
Source: Personal Purchase
Publisher: AVON
Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance
ISBN: 9780061794704

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

The most combative—and tormented—of all the Ferals, Jag is a predator who hunts alone - until daemons terrorize the human population. To stop them, he partners with Olivia, a flame-haired Therian temptress as strong as she is beautiful. But Olivia is no ordinary immortal. The survivor of a vicious supernatural attack, she possesses a deadly and forbidden skill— one that must remain hidden, especially from the powerful Feral Warriors.

As Jag and Olivia's sensual dance of dominance and seduction gets wilder and hotter, a dark force sets its sights on Olivia, threatening to destroy everything she has vowed to protect. And the only one who can save her soul is the arrogant jaguar shifter she lusts for but dares not love.

MY THOUGHTS

Let me tell you straight off the bat, Jag is one hot mo-fo! Seriously!  Yes he is arrogant and a pain in the wazoo at times, but he does not lack in sexuality and form.  Whew. I was hoping he would jump off the page and come alive before my eyes.

Author Pamela Palmer definitely upped the sexiness factor in this series with Rapture Untamed.  What starts out as a playful game between Olivia and Jag, slowly turns into an explosive -- and at times rough -- game of wills and sex.  Jag has had some things happen to him in the past that has shaped his personality.  He is hard to get along with and he can be pretty cruel at times to people and friends alike.

Olivia is part of the Therian Guard and has been called to the Feral House to help in the fight against the Daemons.  The only problem is that she is keeping a huge secret and could be the key in getting herself killed by the Feral's themselves.  When Olivia is forced to team up with Jag and his sexual innuendos, she has a hard time fighting her nature and secret.

This book rocked with the action, suspense, magic and romance.  Each book in the series is getting better than the last -- if that is even possible.  With each of the characters playing important roles in the series, we are getting a glimpse at future books with each one.

The ending was horrible in the fact that it is left on a cliffhanger and tortures the reader in having to wait for the next book.  Thankfully, I had the next book handy or I would have gone insane or stalked the author for little tidbits about the series. If you haven't started reading the series, get on it readers.  You are really missing out on talent and amazing writing!

MY RATING

Outstanding book that will stay on my bookshelf for rereading!

*************************************************

Kate: Oh, what a lovely blog, Thorne. It’s called My Overstuffed Bookshelf. Look all those beautiful books.

Thorne: What does she do with them all?

Kate: Read them? Just guessing here.

Thorne: *shrugs.*

Kate: For those catching, up, first we decided strong, silent Thorne needs a meme to make him cuddlier. At our second stop, we tried out a few famous memes for size. That didn’t go so well. But now I have a new idea!

Thorne, grumbling: Brilliant.

Kate: Have you seen these e-postcards? So much fun! You can create your own at the Some Ecards site.

Thorne: I don’t think I will.

Kate: But others might like to. And look, I made bunches. I’m going to tell the story of our courtship in postcards. Here you are, in your militia uniform, foolishly pretending that you care nothing for me beyond what’s required by duty.

Thorne: That is not me. What is with that hat?

Kate: Never mind the details. Here’s the second one, where you’re pushing me away to “protect” me.

Thorne: I don’t appreciate those quotes around “protect”. I was trying to protect you, no quotes about it. And that vest…? The ponytail? I can’t even.

Kate: Oh, hush. We’re getting good now. Here’s where you’re kissing me and pretending it will never, ever happen again. But I knew it would.

Thorne: At this rate, this is going to take all day.

Kate, riffling through cards: You were rather stubborn, but my main concern is that these cards are about to become rather NSFW.

Thorne: NSFW? Should I even ask?

Kate: Oh, Thorne. You don’t need to ask. NSFW is your normal state. And upon reflection… (blushes deeply at one particular image) Right, I think we need to find something more wholesome. Don’t miss the next stop… Kate and Thorne’s meme struggle takes a furry twist at the Avon Romance blog at 3PM EDT!

Feel free to play around on the Your E Cards site and have fun making your own!

MY THOUGHTS

Stand back people! I have found another author who knows her stuff when writing a Historical Romance!  Tessa Dare is now on my auto-buy list and I am not ashamed to admit it!

There are so many words and emotions that come to mind when I try to describe this book.  Beautiful. Entrancing. Witty. Suspense. Humor. Passion.  Seriously the list could go on and on.  I love how the author made Kate strong and independent.  She has a superficial flaw and has not let it bring her down -- well, not too much.  She realizes what people see when they look at her, but she has accepted this and moved on.  Being orphaned at a young age and left to the care of a mean woman in charge,  she never let it get to her in a way that ruined her.  She accepted it for what it was and made a life for herself teaching music to her students.  Yet, even though she has made an honest life for herself, she still wonders about her family that gave her up.

Thorne was a man that you instantly knew was a man who could make a woman feel loved and safe.  He was a soldier and is very protective of Kate.  While the two share a past, only Thorne is the one who is aware of this.  Kate has forgotten their time together when she was young, but Thorne has never forgotten Kate.  He has watched over her from a distance and they both grew into characters the reader will love.

When unexpected people arrive claiming to be Kate's true family,  Thorne doesn't trust them even though he does know some secrets in either confirming or denying their accusations.  He claims Kate as his fiance and vows to get to the bottom of it all.  If only Kate could remember her past, then all could be sorted out.  Together they must learn the truth and fight the passion they both are experiencing for each other.

I enjoyed this book so much that I am looking forward to sitting down and reading the first two books in this series so I can enjoy all of the characters presented better.  While characters from previous books are mentioned and appear on the pages of A Lady By Midnight, a new reader of the series should have no problem reading this book out of order. Another wonderfully written story that will sweep you away!

MY RATING

Outstanding book that will stay on my bookshelf for rereading!

About Last Night by Ruthie Knox

About Last Night
Author: Ruthie Knox
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Source: Personal Purchase
E-Book Edition
ISBN: 9780345535160

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Cath Talarico knows a mistake when she makes it, and God knows she’s made her share. So many, in fact, that this Chicago girl knows London is her last, best shot at starting over. But bad habits are hard to break, and soon Cath finds herself back where she has vowed never to go . . . in the bed of a man who is all kinds of wrong: too rich, too classy, too uptight for a free-spirited troublemaker like her.

Nev Chamberlain feels trapped and miserable in his family’s banking empire. But beneath his pinstripes is an artist and bohemian struggling to break free and lose control. Mary Catherine—even her name turns him on—with her tattoos, her secrets, and her gamine, sex-starved body, unleashes all kinds of fantasies.

When blue blood mixes with bad blood, can a couple that is definitely wrong for each other ever be perfectly right? And with a little luck and a lot of love, can they make last night last a lifetime?

MY THOUGHTS

I first heard about this book from some of my favorite blog buddies after seeing them rave about it.  I didn't purchase it right away because I wanted to read more reviews about it before clicking on the Buy Now button on Amazon.  I wanted to get a wide range of reviews on this book because the positive reviews were huge.  So I finally decided to just go ahead and buy it.  I actually was able to read this within a few hours from start to finish.

First of all I will say that "City" -- aka Nev -- is one hot piece of eye candy.  Rich, sophisticated, artsy, and hot in bed is just a few qualities this man possesses.  He is the whole package and more.  It is true that he does have some flaws such as having a hard time just standing up to his overbearing mother and brother, but I was willing to overlook it since the author was obviously using this as part of the plot motive.

Cath was my main button pusher of this book.  This girl has had a hard life, but come on.  She had so many witchy moments that I wanted to slap her.  Here she has this great guy willing to do such great things for her and she lets her past interfere with her emotions.  I can understand being afraid of being burnt again in the love department, but she took it a little too far.

One of my favorite parts of this book was when Cath explained her tattoo's on her body.  They had significant meanings, but the whole scene was emotion packed.  Also, there is quite a bit of sex scenes in this book, but they are not overly done.  Sure the first few are hot and descriptive, but the following ones are perfectly balanced for the book.

Ruthie Knox has a great writing style and the book flowed nicely.  The only real problem for me was the character of Cath.  I just couldn't bring myself to enjoy her that much.  Heck, City's Mom was more entertaining to me than the main character and she was a cruel lady.

For a quick and entertaining read this one filled the bill.  Just don't get your hopes too high in loving the heroine.  The hero of this book is the one you need to anticipate because City truly stole the book for the wow factor.

MY RATING

Okay book, but it left me wanting more!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Bookish Confessions

Top Ten Tuesday
is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each Tuesday features a different topic and you post your top ten list related to the topic.

This weeks topic is Top Ten Bookish Confessions.

1. Ear Dogging those pages makes me want to howl in frustration.
No matter what you do, please do not fold those corners over in those pretty babies!  If I see you do it I will dig through my purse or under my seat for a piece of paper just so you won't do this.  I would even rip a sleeve off my shirt to tear into strips for you to use. Talk about sharing the shirt off my back for reading!

2. Most of my books come from friends or used book stores.
Now this isn't because I don't want to spend money or that I am cheap!  I simply just don't have a good book store in my town.  The only place you can purchase books in person in my town is a Kmart.  They never have new releases on the shelves until months later and it is very frustrating.  Sure I could buy online but where is the instant gratification with that?  So I don't get to have the new releases right away. I wait for my friends to pass theirs on or look in the used book store.

3. RIP Borders.
I still cry over this.  If I went to the next town over (a 40 minute drive), I always stopped by there.  Plus my best memory is from Borders.  (see the next number)

4.  I have only met two authors. TWO.  They usually do signings 3 hours south of me, but I can't afford the gas nor do I have the time to make the drive.  My first author signing was at Borders with Alyson Noel.  The other author I met at another book store and it was TK Richardson.

5.  I will dig through the second hand stores for books that might be signed.  I have found 5 books so far at our local Goodwill that have been signed copies that people have gotten rid of.  Do you not understand how much this irks me?!  If an author takes the time to sign a book, people should take the time to put them on their shelves.

6. I have a plastic bin full of author bookmarks and goodies.
I am slowly making scrapbooks for all of them, but with three kids it is a slow process.

7.  I will power through 5 books in a weekend, but it takes me almost 2 weeks sometimes to go over my notes and write the review.  This is something I am trying to work on.  Honest.

8.  I carry a book with me constantly.
I buy purses big enough to at least hold a paperback book.  I take them with me everywhere! Every room in my house has one.  (and yes, even the bathroom)

9. If I see someone in a store browsing books and I have read the one they are looking at,  I will tell them if it is worth the price or not.  Yep. I am even a book pusher in person people. Be warned.

10.  In my library at this moment, I own close to 2000 books.  They are stuffed in shelves.  They are making my shelves sag. I am not ashamed. Some people collect shoes and such. I collect books.

Knight by Kristen Ashley

Knight
Series: Unfinished Hero #1
(E-Book Edition)
Author: Kristen Ashley
Genre: Adult Erotica
Source: Personal Purchase
ISBN: B007SFBPFY

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams.

Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn’t want to be and she meets Knight.

Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to be having to borrow his phone.

Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves of white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays – good, normal and clean. But when Anya comes to his nightclub and finds herself in a situation, he knows someone has to look after her, he can’t fight it anymore and he decides that man will be him.

Knight teaches Anya that, just as with the bad, in life you should also expect the good. And he teaches her this by giving it to her.

But Knight has a dark past and just as he desires Anya for exactly who she is, he fears when she finds out exactly the man he has become and always intends to be, she’ll leave him for good, normal and clean.

MY THOUGHTS

After hearing how much everyone states that the books by Kristen Ashley are like crack for book addicts,  I decided to venture into this new addiction.  Most people have told me that if I want to get addicted to this particular author I shouldn't start with Knight.  After finishing up this book, I find myself agreeing with this.  Knight to me was 'meh' and one that gave me the heebie-jeevies several times while reading it.

If I had to hear Knight refer to himself as "Daddy" one more time while they were exploring their sexual relationship, I think I would have broken out in hives from the scared stranger-danger associated with sexual predators.  Seriously, "Daddy" is not a pet word that I enjoyed reading in the bedroom.

Ewwww.

Another thing that was a big turn off for me was the way Knight spoke.  I had to constantly reread what he was saying several times to even understand a part of what he was trying to say.  It was like a foreign language to me at times. Plus he had the bad habit of saying "F*ck" so many times in a sentence that I think it was his first word as a child.  Every other word out of his mouth -- or every other sentence at least -- had this word in it and I just couldn't understand the reasoning in this.  Yes, he is a bad guy.  Yes, he is a tough guy.  Yes, we should be scared of him because he is truly a dangerous man.  Even with all of this taken into account, it still didn't need to be applied to make the story enjoyable.  If anything, it brought the story down for me.

Anya was one I don't think I could see myself being friends with either.  There was no depth to her character and I couldn't bring myself to really care what happened to her.  She was plain and borderline boring for most of the story.

I will definitely try reading more from the author based solely on the recommendations to read her other stories for a better reading experience from other readers.  If you are a first time reader of this author, I recommend you starting with another series by her like I should have done.  Save Knight for last if you do plan on joining in on the addiction train.

MY RATING

If the library doesn't have it, don't worry about reading it!

Welcome Author Jillian Stone

1. Hi Jillian!

Can you tell everyone a little about yourself?

In 2010, my manuscript for An Affair with Mr. Kennedy won the RWA Golden Heart and I went from no agent or publisher to signing with Richard Curtis and being offered a three book contract by Pocket Books. That summer, The Seduction of Phaeton Black also won the erotica category of the 2010 Romance Through the Ages contest for and was offered a three book contract by Kensington Brava. Needless to say I have been busy writing books this past year and a half! I live in Southern California and I am currently working on a special Pocket Star e-novella for The Gentlemen of Scotland Yard series.

2. Can you share with us a little background on your upcoming book?

I’m excited to share my latest release from The Gentlemen of Scotland Yard series. A Dangerous Liaison with Detective Lewis is a fast paced road trip adventure, with the hero and heroine on the run from Edinburgh to London by train, velocipede, landship and submersible!
As a film student, I studied all of Alfred Hitchcock’s work and I particularly admire the romantic suspense films: Rear Window, North by Northwest, and To Catch a Thief. Thrills, chills, adventure––perhaps there’s a mystery to uncover, or a villain to capture, but at the story’s core, there is a love story.
I had an idea that was based on a villain and his small private army of minions who are essentially anti-progressives. In 1887 England, that meant that they were anti-industry, anti-machinery, anti-invention. Today they would be anti-technology. I then came up with a string of grisly murders and a beautiful industrial heiress whose father has just been killed by one of his one machines––accident or murder? Scotland Yard suspects the darker of the two and sends a detective up to guard the young heiress. Then I added a complication for the romance––Rafe and Fanny have a past.

Here’s the blurb:

When Fanny Greyville-Nugent's father suffers a gruesome death in the clutches of his own machine, mourning his loss is not the beautiful heiress's only heartbreak. Scotland Yard is convinced he was targeted in a plot to halt the rise of industry, and Fanny's former fiancé, dashing and dubious detective Raphael "Rafe" Lewis, has been assigned to the case.

For the estranged ex-lovers, bringing the notorious assassins to justice proves as tumultuous as quelling pent-up desires. Fighting peril and passion at every turn of a dangerous journey from Edinburgh to London, they are pursued by an anarchist group hell-bent on destroying her father's mysterious entry into the London Industrial Exposition.

When an astonishing discovery about the couple's failed engagement surfaces, the sleuthing duo realize they can trust no one. Rafe confesses new details about his infidelity and Fanny risks all to avenge her father's murder. But will Rafe and Fanny triumph over the pain of their past?

3. What is one thing you have learned along the way that you wished you had known from the beginning about writing and publishing?

Writing to contract deadlines can be gruelling, so get your chops up now! I’m a slow writer so if I have a 2,500 to 3,000 word day, that is smokin’ hot for me, but other writers, particularly multiple contract writers can go 6,000 words a day.

Cultivate the biggest name authors you can. (It’s all about who you know.) You will need their blurb endorsement for your covers. I was shocked to discover that publishers/editors don’t necessarily get involved in acquiring endorsement blurbs for debut authors.

4. If you could pick the cast for your current book, who would play the main characters?

When my editor asked me for input for the cover art of A Dangerous Liaison with Detective Lewis I emailed her two pictures, one of a young Hugh Grant (Four Weddings and a Funeral) and a young Helen Bonham Carter (Room with a View).

5. Can you share with us what you are working on next?

I am currently working on the synopses for three new Gentlemen of Scotland Yard books for Pocket and another sequel in the Phaeton Black, Paranormal Investigator series for Kensington Brava, The Miss Education of Doctor Exeter.

Passion Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Passion Untamed
Series: Feral Warriors #3
Author: Pamela Palmer
Publisher: AVON
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Source: Personal Purchase
ISBN: 9780061667534

SUMMARY
(From Goodreads)

Though the Mage witch, Skye, has a gentle heart, demonic forces have enslaved her, forcing her to kidnap Paenther, a powerful and dangerous Feral Warrior. Even chained and naked, Paenther is a cunning prisoner who seduces her, body and soul, turning captive into captor.

Paenther's pride demands revenge against the enchantress who emerged from the deep woods like a sensual vision and enthralled him, even as she makes his body burn with passion. Despite his fury over her treachery, Skye's gentle beauty calls to his soul, calming the wild chaos within him, and stealing his heart. But when evil threatens, Paenther and Skye's only chance at survival is to trust in one another...and the power of love.

MY THOUGHTS

I have to say, first thing, that this is my favorite of the series so far.  Author Pamela Palmer brought everything to this book.  Sex, romance, suspense, drama, witty dialogue, and a great plot are just a few things you will find within the pages of the third installment in the Feral Warriors series.

We start with Paenther being imprisoned in a cave.  He comes face to face with the Mage witch that tricked him and captured him.  Paenther has a past with Mage witches and can't stand them.  His hatred for them is worse than any of the other Feral Warriors because of this.  Without going into too much detail in the why of this, I will say that I can understand how he is feeling.  What he doesn't expect is how Skye is different than other Mage.  She is a gentle soul and one that is pure.  What she is doing is not by choice, but one of force in which she has no understanding of what can come from her actions.  If she doesn't do what she is told, Skye is forced to endure extreme torture and pain.

I loved seeing the softer side of Paenther in this book.  Yes he is strong and definitely a Warrior to be feared, but he is also gentle when needed.  He starts to realize what has happened and starts to fall for the Mage witch.  While he starts to bring Skye into his world a little bit,  he doesn't give his full trust to her until you least expect it.

The battle is just beginning to erupt within the Warrior and Mage war to free the evil into the human world.  This is one fight you won't want to miss!  Allies are aligning with each, troubles are arising within both groups, and romance is found where you least expect it.  One of the best books in the series so far!

MY RATING

Outstanding book that will stay on my bookshelf for rereading!

Imagine my surprise when this arrived on my doorstep.  The absolutely most amazing author Chelsea Fine sent me this package of goodies!!!
Inside were signed bookmarks, a signed poster, a coffee mug, a signed book of Awry, a pen, and two gorgeous photos of Tristan.  Seriously all, these photos do not do the actual posters justice. This man is hot!! My seven year old was even doing cat calls when I opened them up.
