Of course if they are signed I don't use them but if not I use them all the time. If I am sent more than one thing of the same item I host a giveaway and share the love. I do not like how people covet them though. I think we can forget about the fact that the swag is there to promote the book and the author, not the "stuff". The reading is what is really important.

<3 Patricia @ Patricia's ParticularityPatricia's Particularityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09987130921220318006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272447557425149349.post-35028033040476187612011-02-27T11:12:00.670-08:002011-02-27T11:12:00.670-08:00Wow, I love this post! I am happy to say that just this week I received a really cool swag pkg from Sharon Ashwood, I got a signed magnet, a bookmark, a signed booklet of her new book, and a terrific book charm made with Swarovski crystals! Love it! I am now a collector and love finding authors to send for swag. If I dont want it or have doubles then I will save it for future giveaways! I really loved this post, and you really have some cool swag!
jbdownie5@yahoo.comJoannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05340384101325462631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272447557425149349.post-2788853108704846542011-02-26T11:16:02.363-08:002011-02-26T11:16:02.363-08:00I love swag, and my favorite type is bookmarks! I also have a couple of totebags that I absolutely love, so I'd say bookmarks and totes are my faves. There are already too many mugs in my house, but would love to see candle swag, as I love candles! Best swag I ever received was the Dark Divine nail polish! I work for a promotional distributor, and what we do is provide custom-imprinted items that clients give out at trade shows or some other event. In fact, this where I got my pens and bookmarks when I first became a published author. So, yeah, I agree. Swag is great! I love getting an awesome bookmark (I can always use more. There's no such thing as "too many.")

For all you publishers/authors, if you'd like to get your own swag, go to www.greenpearle.com

For reviews, go to http://sandrasbookclub.blogspot.comBook Club Reviewerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15030306241563341911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272447557425149349.post-64639118029180282542011-02-26T09:36:40.884-08:002011-02-26T09:36:40.884-08:00I like it, it's kinda the adult equivalent to ...I like it, it's kinda the adult equivalent to collecting cards :-)

The only swag I have that I didn't buy is from Jessica Verday's The Hollow. Plus, I love promoting reading in any way that I can, because there just aren't enough readers out there. But when you offer treasured items in a giveaway along with a book, people are gonna get excited.

Amy, I think that a swag scrapbook is a great idea!
