Thoughts for Bloggers

I had just picked up another book off my shelf to sit down and read after finishing my third book of the day. It was a book I have been dying to read for awhile now and I finally made it to it! (Yeah Me!)  Anyway, I don't know about everyone else, but I always find myself reading the first couple pages in a book--the pages with the snippets from other reviewers--just to see if it is a blogger I know of.  Imagine my surprise when I opened up Breakfast in Bed by Robin Kaye and saw a few bloggers mentioned! I saw a snippet from Erotic Horizon, The Book Binge, Romance Junkies, and a few others. First of all Congrats! That is so awesome! I also saw on her website reviews from All about N and Smexy Books!

I think when reviewers get part of their review mentioned in a book, it is the ultimate recognition for us.  We read, we spend time writing reviews, and we try to share our thoughts on books so others can get a feel for the book.  It makes me wonder, has my hard work ever been recognized?  I have found snippets and sometimes full posts of my reviews on numerous blogs by authors, but I have yet to find a print book with my blog listed. Now, I am not complaining! Don't get me wrong!  I am just curious. So now, I am fumbling through all of my books, trying to see if I happen to see my name in those glorious pages of recognition! To me, that would be the highest honor.

The main reason for this post is not only to congratulate all of those who have had their reviews mentioned, but to also make the bloggers aware that we are heard and we are recognized.  Next time you pick up that new release, and you know you have reviewed for that author in the past, be sure to check and see if your blog was featured in those pages!

If you have had any part of your review posted in a book, leave me a comment or drop me an email! I would love to take a look at it. I will give you praise!

(and if you see my name, shout it out to me! LOL ;P)

LOL! I always get a bit excited when I see a fellow blogger get quoted. I just recently learned that I got quoted, I had no clue until the author told me. You can find it in Tracy Madison's A Stroke of Magic.

Wow, how cool is that! I am going to have to pay better attention. Congrats to them, it is wonderful for them and for all bloggers like you said. It show that the author's and publishers are really paying attention to bloggers and value what we have to say. It truly put a smile on my face!!!

Great Post!!

Congrats to them! Wait until Charlotte Featherstone's Sinful comes out in April - there's a wonderful dedication to two bloggers in it!

Hey Amy..

You found out me out there - I know some authors are really good about dropping me a line to ask or tell me - but I am always chuffed when it happens...

I think my mom is collecting them - and she doesn't read what I read.. weird woman...(you know what my mom is like)

I agree with you though - even without bloggers quotes going out on books, marketing info, booklets etc - bloggers are so the business, we kick ass and we make it happen...

I love being amoung this great bunch of people..

Cool post...

That's pretty neat! I know my books feature blogger reviews as well. I think the best bet for a blogger to have his or her review included in the book is to review early and send it to the publisher or author. I know the final copy of mine is prepared about 2-3 months before the release date, so a review must reach the publisher before that happens to be included.
So review early and you just might see your review in a book!
